The Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas is among the most child friendly ships at sea, able to accommodate kids of any age and amuse them with a variety of different activities from day to day. Here is a rundown of what facilities you can find on board the ship that will keep the kids entertained for hours on end.
Outdoors
The range of outdoor activities are plentiful on board Oasis, with state of the art equipment that will have the kids coming back time and again. First up is the Flowrider surf simulator which is a Surf simulator that will grab kids, and adults, attention for hours on end. The is also 2 state of the art climbing walls on board, each with various climbing routes. Another favorite with kids is the 82 foot zip line which is located above the boardwalk kid’s area, so you can see everyone underneath you as you speed from 1 side of the ship to the other.
Of its 7 neighborhoods, The Oasis of the Seas has 2 neighborhoods dedicated to kids, The Boardwalk and The Youth Zone
The Youth Zone
On Board there is the “Royal Babies and Tots Nursery”, which is a fully staffed nursery where parents can leave their children with trained childcare professionals whilst they can go off and enjoy the ships entertainment and dining options. There are also interactive playgroups for parents and babies which has been created in conjunction with Crayola and Fisher-Price. The Neighbourhood also contains the 1st ever children’s theatre at sea, where kids can watch productions as well as compete in talent shows and participate in hip hop dance classes.

Carousel on the Oasis
For Older Kids, There are activities such as the Mini golf as well as courts for Basketball and Volleyball. The main areas teens will spend most time though are the Living room and Fuel disco. The Living room allows teens to make non alcoholic cocktails in its “mocktail” bar, and also provides internet access and DJ classes where teens can learn to mix music. The fuel disco is styled on a trendy nightclub where teens can show off their moves on the dance floor to the latest popular music.
The Boardwalk
The boardwalk has a variety of attractions that will keep the kids entertained for hours on end. The 600 seat AquaTheatre boasts stunning aquatic acrobatic, high-diving and synchronized swimming performances which will thrill the whole family. Designed to look like a seaside pier, it contains a carousel with 18 different animals. This creates the feel of a traditional beach boardwalk and is perfect entertainment for young children.
Babysitting?
There are two babysitting options on the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas, cabin sitting and nursery sitting. Cabin sitting is good for children of any age group and works by having a babysitter come to the cabin for a pre arranged period of time so that parents can have time to themselves to dine out or enjoy other aspects of the ship. The other option is for toddlers and younger children whereby parents can drop them off in the nursery where they will be looked after for a small fee.
